Timothy Carey is a designer and musician working at the intersections of architecture and the performing arts. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music and the History of Art and Architecture from Brown University and subsequently completed a Master of Architecture from Harvard University, with coursework in acoustics and sound studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He has worked most recently in the offices of Selldorf Architects, REX, and Maryann Thompson Architects, focused on the design of innovative spaces for art, music, theater, and dance. His works and writing have been published by Actar, Urban Omnibus, and the Leuven University Press. Timothy was awarded a Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant from the Center for Architecture in 2021, in support of a project entailing travel to and study of 35 major performing arts buildings in northern Europe.
